Always disconnect your appliance from the mains before you start examining it!

Can't get the bulb out
Wear a rubber glove to grasp the holder

Before attempting to remove the bulb ensure the power supply to the oven has been switched off. Fat and food deposits along with the heat of the oven can result in the bulb holder being seized in place and difficult to remove. For extra grip wear a 'marigold' type rubber glove and turn the cover anticlockwise to remove it. Once the cover is off grasp the bulb still wearing the glove and twist it anticlockwise to remove it. Be careful at all times when handling glass items. Replacement bulbs may be purchased from the spares section of our warehouse.

Pre heat the oven to temperature before cooking

Some dishes, especially frozen food require the oven to be pre heated before the food is placed in the oven. Pre heat for at least 15 minutes, if food is placed in the oven from a 'cold start' then condensation may appear on the door and drip down onto the floor.

Cracks in the enamel
Don't place baking trays on the oven bottom

Before you start to cook always check that any oven trays not being used have been removed from the bottom of the oven. Place cookware on the wire shelves, never on the bottom of the oven as excessive heat will build up between the tray and the oven floor if trays come into direct contact with the oven floor. This may lead to the enamel peeling and cracking

Getting hot and scorching the units
Check there is adequate ventilation

The oven has been designed to fit into a tall housing unit and there must be adequate ventilation to ensure that the outside can remain cool when the oven is in use. It is important that there is a cut out in the support shelf and air ways as shown:

How do I know when my oven has reached the chosen temperature?
Most ovens have an indicator light

Most of our electric ovens have an indicator lamp next to the temperature selection control. Once the oven has reached the temperature you have chosen, then the light will go out.The pre heating is completed and the food can be placed inside the oven to cook.

If your oven does not have an indicator light please consult your instruction book. A copy can be downloaded from this website.

The light may come on again as you add the food or open the door to check the progress of the cooking. This is perfectly normal.

How to remove the door for cleaning
Step by step guide

Open the oven door fully. On the top of each hinge is a locking catch to fix the hinges in the open position and remove the door from your oven.

hinge lock

Lift the locking catch as shown in the direction of the arrow. Grasp the door by the sides and lift upwards to remove it from the appliance. You can now clean the door. To re assemble, offer the door up with the hinges into the slots on each side. Lower the door down and push the locking catches on both sides back to release the hinges. Carefully close the door and ensure it is lined up and shuts perfectly. If it is out of alignment re lock the hinges with the catches, lift the door off and then re fit it again.

No electrical power
Replace the fuse

If there is no power to the product it may simply be because the fuse in the plug has blown. This can happen from time to time and does not mean that your product is faulty. All our products fitted with a plug require a 13 amp fuse, its a good idea to try a fuse from a different product that is working, a hairdryer or toaster perhaps. The fuse is fitted in the plug as shown, swap the fuse and try the appliance again.

If the appliance continues to blow fuses then it is possible that there may be a fault, please ring us to arrange a visit from one of our service engineers.

Is there electricity at the socket?

Check that there is a supply to your socket, start by plugging another appliance in to the supply that you know is working. If there is no supply check that the circuit breaker has not tripped or the fuse blown in the household consumer unit. This is a box that may look like this and is usually found in the garage, or under the stairs or hall way of your property.

Typical consumer unit or switch box

There may be a switch in the room remote from the appliance, this will be the case if the power supply socket is behind the appliance. Locate the switch and make sure it is switched on.

Smelly oven
New ovens need to have a 30 minute 'burn off'

New ovens may smell awful when used for the first time, its not a fault and is just the 'newness' smell that comes from the first use due to residues used in our factory.

Before you use the oven for the fist time switch the oven on to full heat for 30 minuets with plenty of ventilation in the room to 'burn off' the newness smell.

Oven is set on 'auto' function

If your oven shows the word 'auto' or the letter 'A' then it is in the automatic mode and will not start, and the internal light will not come on. It will need to be set into the manual operation mode.

Look for the button with a hand symbol, press and release this and then use the '+' or '-' keys to adjust the time of day. Once you have set the clock to display the time of day release the buttons and the display should show the cook pot symbol. The oven is now ready to start cooking.
