Hoover and the environment
Our design teams are constantly developing ways to reduce the impact of our
products on the environment. We have steadily cut energy requirements across
all our ranges, and for washing machines and dishwashers we have reduced
washing times and working temperatures. We also work with suppliers to ensure
that as many components as possible can be recycled.
Some Hoover environmental milestones:
• We have used non-CFC gases in our
refrigerators since 1999. These gases do
not affect the ozone layer, or contribute
to the greenhouse effect
• The first to introduce oval tanks in
washing machines, reducing water
consumption
• The first to introduce the 'half load'
concept, saving water and energy
